2026 Invitation Design Trends
Share
The invitation landscape is ever changing. Trends we are seeing for 2026 include expressive color palettes, vintage design and nostalgic aesthetics with tactile and textured papers.
We see more requests for timeless looks, vintage fonts, and unique stationary techniques, like embossing (pressed into the page), blind embossing (pops up from the page) and foil accents. These techniques are beautiful, but they do add to the price of a suite. Talk to your stationer about the various options and how to incorporate these techniques into your stationery.
In spring 2025 I did a beautiful wedding collection that included a trifold with blind embossing on the front flap. We included an insert card with details and a QR code RSVP process in lieu of a return card. The bride put a lot of effort into amazing day-of stationery like:
Bar signs
Welcome signs for every event (3 days worth!)
Dinner menu - with a thank you message on the back
Table numbers
Seating chart (affixed to mirror)
And finally, small basket cards for:
Fans (it was a Texas wedding y’all)
Flip flops (on dance floor)
Bubbles (for send off)
QR codes and wedding websites are also becoming more popular to save on stationery costs. In the above account we added the website and an email on the QR card in large font (for the elderly guests) and had point persons to help them rsvp.
Simplified invitation stationery releases budget funds to allow for creative day-of stationary. There are simplified invitation suite options, that still have a wow factor. Allowing extra effort into day-of stationary can create an experience and strong ambience at your event.
